%X The Biribiri State Park is a conservation unit (IEF). It is situated on the eastern and central border ofthe Serra do Espinhaço Meridional. It is located in Diamantina, Minas Gerais State. It is a monument of thenatural reserve, and has great environmental geodiversity. However, ecotourism practices are insufficient, andthe geotourism practices are absent. This investigation includes: (i) use the techniques of digital imageprocessing in OLI (Landsat-8) and SRTM sensors data, to classify areas with tourist vocations; and (ii) develop aGIS platform, with multi-thematic data, for making digital cartography. Considering the complexities involved, the aims for the study of the area are: (i) classify through arithmetic operations of bands, (ii) classify bynormalized difference indices and its variants, (iii) classify from the digital terrain model; and (iv) identify areasin the park. The results were relatively successful in discriminating the subdivisions of the park based on theclassification. The park contains five sectors: (i) north (local depression, sparse vegetation, large river); (ii) westcenter(intermediate altitude, dense vegetation): (iii) east-center (high, low vegetation); (iv) southwest(intermediate altitude, medium vegetation, streams and waterfalls); and (v) southeast (very high altitude, lowdense vegetation). The application of geotechnologies in the park was promising. The continuity of this researchwill produce resources to amplify scientific and adventure tourism in the park.
